A few months ago we had this fabulous idea of DinnerClub... once a week a nice dinner in an not-yet-to-us-known restaurant in Tallinn...!

Anyone interested to bring the club back to life?

A New Year's Coming...

...and Karukitchen seems to be completely empty.

Andrea is @ his wife in Latvia, Hugo is in Tartu, Michel in Finland and i am in a warm flat in Pikk.
The 2006, a great year for most of the Karukitcheners is ending and for most of us the last few months were a good combination of noise,satisfactions,complaining,gooddinnersoutside,MerjeEmails,Latenights, Angryscreamings,GoodMoodGreenTeas.

Many things happened, great connections created, a whole family lived in that building in Karu. It has been good, it got day by day better, it will be good, it will get day by day better in the next months.

Happy New Year KaruKitchen17, be fine, be good and Behave!

KaruKitchen17: New events

By Thanking all the Karukitcheners that came the last week for our Pre-Christmas Party (and by giving a special Thanks to Santa Claus for coming), this post will be the first reminder for all the new KaruKitchen17 Events.
No matter if you'll be studying for your exams, no matter if there will be your favourite show in tv or if a beautiful partner will be asking for you. next KaruKitchen17 events are unmissable!

so:

1) Venus night. Tonight - Wednesday - 11:00 - meeting in the Karukitchen at the table.
The Venus is the nearest club to Karu, a bit old styled, drinks not too expensive, entrance probably free.
2) Thursday - Eating Club is back: one of the last (if not the last) opportunity to enjoy our eating club. The appointment is on Thursday - 20:00 - meeting in the Karukitchen at the table
This time the Eating Club will bring you in a exotic Russian Restaurant somewhere in the center. Wanna know more? stay Tuned!
3) Pictures award: some brazilian Karukitchener came up with the idea of making a picture contest with all the Karukitcheners pics. if you wanna participate send them to Ottavio or Hugo by Email and wait for new istructions!

Nuclear powerful powerless Karu

Stay firm on your chair, keep quiet, take the emergency mask and breath normally, cos on this thursday something is going to happen and it doesn't have anything to spare with the cleaning of the kitchen.
nor with our party.

It's gonna be long, it's gonna be painful (think about yourself hitting your head against the closed doors) and it will be an obstacle for all these tea-drinkers we have.

Yeah, i think u already heard it loud and clear in the corridor: no electricity on thursday from 9 to 17.

So (somebody said) -no turkey- no turkish and lots of troubles. but i don't think it's gonna be that bad, karukitchen will just need to be a little bit faster to organize the things and cook the food.
it wasnt said in the last post but we're also going to make some special all-vegetarian dish for those who don't like meat. the dish is called "Reindeer-white beard salad" and it's one of the most delicious dishes ever invented (in Estonia). :P :P :P

so now we have:
a bunch of hungry people (soon a complete list) and some Finnished (Tm)
some joulutorttuja
some Christmas CD + decoration
some candle (me, small ones)
an idea of a kind of example of menu

Dinner?

seems to everybody that Thursday is the better night so here in Karu we think that this will be our night.

Talking with Hugo we thought about a plan for the food (at least a first idea) and this would be:

- Amazing golden "reindeer" chicken (or a turkey or a turkish)
- Pork ribbs filled with Brazilian mood and Christmas lights
- Rice "a la Christmas"
- Russian "Christmas tree" Salad
- Midsummer "Santa Claus" Cake (well... for this we still have to ask Kirsi :P )

suggestions? you want to change somthing in the menu or you want to prepare something by yourself (more than welcome!)?

these days we were thinking about making a pre-Christmas party in the Karukitchen, right now we don't have any precise information about when, where and who's going to come, but you better keep your reindeer ready next week, post a comment with your favourite days to make the party and stay tuned on our blog!
